Something about sending links through a third-partys is unsettling for privacy reasons
Given that it just takes one person to click on it, then the website in question is aware they're been targeted. Time is money, and if adguard forums can use text links it'll avoid any potential website...
Not too sure hows its done on lanik's side, but from what I understand it was either a setting forum change or modification of file.

While whitelisting/fixing blockadblock.com, I don't think it's a fight worth while given they'll probably attempt to subvert it at every opportunity. Its not a really site many people visit, unless its webhosts looking for quick script.
