I mentioned I had Blokada from the start. I can't be the first person to try to install AdGuard after having already installed another service that Android recognises as an always on VPN. @maxikuzmin instantly recognised the problem when I recorded a video of it, so it was clearly obvious what...
UPDATE: SOLUTION FOUND
@maxikuzmin from AdGuard's GitHub page successfully identified the problem — AdGuard cannot create a local VPN profile if your Android device already has a pre-existing VPN profile with "always on" privileges
@PrintableCharacter from the Blokada Community Forum provided...
UPDATE:
After being provided with a new free trial license, I attempted the solution aforementioned and found it completely useless. AdGuard continues to be completely non-functional to me. Unless someone can tell me what is the secret to making this app do anything at all on a non-rooted...
In case anyone is having this same problem, user @Chinaski1 at Github suggested following these instructions: https://kb.adguard.com/en/android/solving-problems/restricted-profile#solutions
Please note that I cannot vouch for whether these instructions will solve the problem, as they came too...
Doesn't that send the report to costumer support? I already did that (on day 1 of my free trial licence); they said
, only they said it with more emojis. There are reports here of people waiting more than 5 weeks for costumer support to write back; unless they're planning to give me a new...
(0) I've tried installing it on the same device twice, and on a different device once, always with the same result: AdGuard cannot establish a local VPN connection, ergo doesn't work. I've also tried updating AdGuard 3.6.7 (Default) to AdGuard 4.0.74 (Nightly 33) twice, which could be regarded...
AdGuard Beta channel does not update.
AdGuard Nightly is just as useless as AdGuard Default.
I'm told AdGuard works on non-rooted devices, but I'm yet to see evidence of that. Is that a lie? Is it false advertising? Or is it because I have a free 7-day trial licence? Do you have to pay in order...
My trial period expires soon and I haven't used any features whatsoever, premium or otherwise. There's been a message on my notifications panel saying "Preparing to start protection, please wait" for over 30h straight. I've been default, nightly, default again, now I'm thinking of going beta and...
First of all, thank you for taking the time to actually respond to my threads. Your help is much appreciated.
Regarding problem #1 (device with dark mode = off), it's not that I couldn't find a way to install AdGuard — I could do it by bypassing Avast if I wanted to, I just trust Avast more...
UPDATE: I sent the `adguard.apk` file over from the "dark mode on" device to the "dark mode off" device and Avast Mobile Security installed it without issues or complaints; scanning the device several times over afterwards did not reveal any sign of suspicious app activity.
As I said in my dedicated thread, I downloaded it from https://adguard.com/en/welcome.html. That looked like the legitimate website, I find it more likely that it's been compromised than that I've been phished. What I don't get is: if it's a fake positive, why does it only happen in one out of...
How do I contact the AdGuard developers via Github? Do you know what's the page I should post issues at?
PS: Do you have any idea why Avast Mobile Security detected suspicious app activity on AdGuard for Android in one of my devices, but not in the other? Both devices are Samsung Galaxy A51...
Where can I contact them via Github? Can you give me an exact page link? Although I haven't had the best experience on Github; the developers of Drozer completely ignored me and I was never able to connect to my mobile device. And the people on this forum are completely ignoring me, too; the...
As I posted in a dedicated ask that everyone is ignoring (whence my appropriating this one), AdGuard cannot use local VPN to filter my device. Which is not because my device isn't compatible, as Blokada uses local VPN to filter my device just fine. And it's not because Blokada is interfering...
Could this be the reason AdGuard can't create a local VPN connection? I've tried restarting the device, reinstalling the application, reinstalling the certificate, switching to AdGuard Nightly…
I thought this was a no-root adblocker, but I guess not, it's for rooted devices only.
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a 7-day trial run (now 6-day trial run, and I haven't even started using it yet…) of AdGuard for Android to try to see if it's worth buying a licence for. I've run into technical difficulties that have been reported in this forum on at least two (possibly more) separate...
