You must turn off 'DNS Filtering' as well. I I guess that's what Laitinlok was mentioning with the private DNS.

Ok, looks like I can get it to function properly if I turn of DNS filtering. Can anyone tell me why that is? If I set the DNS server to the Shadowsocks local proxy (127.0.0.1:5450, for example), I would expect the DNS filtering to work as expected, and not cause a connection closed error.
