Adguard Assistant on the new stable Microsoft Edge

Greetings to everybody from Greece,

I have just updated my Microsoft Edge Beta, basically installed in parallel, to the new stable (chromium based) edition of Microsoft Edge. Until now i was using the beta edition of microsoft edge without having any issue with Adguard Assistant. There was the floating icon and i was happily using it!

Unfortunately now there isnt any floating icon, and i am pretty sure that there isnt any filtering done by adguard for windows except only for some native blocking that the new edge provides.

Should i wait some time to get this browser properly supported or is there any workaround.

WFP is enabled and it includes Edge.

Are you using the latest AdGuard for Windows version? I just checked here, and the Assistant is appearing just fine in the stable version of the new Microsoft Edge.

Hello there!
I just try to reproduce on the AdGuard 7.3 (build 3048) + Latest Microsoft Edge Legacy.

The AdGuard assistant works as expected.
Tell me, do you have third-party VPN services or antivirus installed?

One thing you could try is backing up your settings and user filter and doing a full uninstall of AG for Windows (using the AG uninstall utility app) and reinstalling AG for Windows. I previously had an issue where filtering wouldn't work at all in all apps, and doing a clean reinstall fixed it.

I’ve just purchased AdGuard for Windows I too do not see any floating widget nor does AdGuard appear to be blocking apps.
Same on Firefox.
No VPN. Using Defender & MB (pro).

The issue might be in the WFP driver. You need to disable it. (Network settings).
Also, you should try to switch-on the Filter Localhost feature (General > Advanced).

I have the same problem. AG works basically in Firefox, Chrome and Brave. But it doesn't work in Edge.
I have Malwarebytes installed too and AG hadn't worked at all, but after I disabled the WFP driver it began to work in FF, Chrome and Brave.
But it still doesn't work in Edge.
I have switched on Localhost filter. I have uninstalled AG, rebooted and re-installed AG.
But nothing has changed. It still doesn't work with Edge.

Is there something I can do?
My OS is Windows 10 1909 x64.

In order to work in Edge, you need to have the WFP driver enabled.
But there is now a problem with Malwarebytes and AdGuard compatibility when using the WFP.
So perhaps you have nothing left to do but use another browser.
Or you can switch to Microsoft Legacy.

Thanks for the info. But what I find strange is that I have a second PC running AG with WFP driver enabled and Malwarebytes installed too,
and there it works in all installed browsers (Chrome, FF, Edge, Brave).
But I have no idea why it works on this PC and doesn't work an my other PC.
AG and Malwarebytes versions are identical. AG setup is identical except WFP driver settings.
OS is Windows 10 1909 x64 on both PCs.

But is not a big issue at the moment.
I don't have to use Edge.

AG for Windows should work fine with the new Chromium-based Edge even with the TDI driver, it's the old Edge that requires the WFP driver to work.

This shouldn't be an issue once 7.4 is released, since the userscript-based AdGuard Assistant is being replaced with a browser extension called the AdGuard Browser Assistant, which right now is working fine in Chrome, Firefox and the new Chromium-based Edge. Should work fine in Brave as well.
