We are happy to announce that we've launched a Telegram channel where you can ask any questions and get live responses, discuss Adguard and related matters with devs and other users etc.:

https://t.me/adguard_en

A brief Q&A:

Q: Why Telegram and not Whatsapp, Gitter etc.?
A: We considered many different options, but in the end, Telegram simply seemed like the most convenient messenger.

Q: What I can and what I can not discuss there?
A: There are no strict rules. You can discuss Adguard, Adguard-related news and questions, as well as other matters not directly linked to it. Just try not to spam.

Q: What is not allowed?
A: As already mentioned, spamming is a big no-no. Using strong language is fine, to an extent. Don't overuse it and don't point it at anyone in particular. No racism, intolerance, threatening, political or illegal talk is allowed as well.

Stickers aren't allowed also, please don't use them or they will be removed. And, of course, keep your tone respectful while addressing other chat members. It's fine to disagree, but it's not acceptable to attack or insult others.

That should cover the basics, you can ask any questions you might have right in the chat!

That is great Gitter is to clunky and Whatsapp is restrictive (as of right now), Telegram seems a great secure communication channel.

These statements are conflicting and should be elaborated as strong language literally means words designed to abuse/offend which I think should not be allowed at all.

@gotitbro maybe, I am not a native speaker. I meant that you can use these 'strong words' without addressing them to anyone in particular. Like, imagine that you hit your pinky on a chair or something.

If there's a better term, I will gladly edit the topic.

I'm guessing strong language (e.g. cursing) is fine, but not hate speech, intolerant speech, racism, name calling, bodily threats, terroristic threats, hacking threats, piracy talk, general illegal talk and for probably for good measure political talk (since that always seems to descend into chaos)?

P.S. What, no IRC channel?!? :p

Adguard Telegram channel - means just Adguard people, members/users - forum/program/extensions
Or can anyone with some form of the App to connect up to the https://t.me/adguard_en channel, who may of seen it posted elsewhere - then do just that?

Do you need to register, have a user name, all within the control of Adguard or is it the Telegram App basically this falls under, and Adguard's channel is only like an extension - if you called a big corporation/business to get to a specific department/person within it?
Does Adguard have any control then from outside connections, liken to a switchboard.

How much does the spam meaning cover - advertising or promoting of a service or product fall under that? If that would be a problem in the future.

I'm old school and this seems to me or how I relate to it as a shoutbox would of been on a website in it's time, but more advanced and feature rich / then not site dependent. Maybe someday I'll try it out - thanks for bringing innovations to Adguard mediums of communication. :)
Change is hard especially when learning something new is needed. Education/safeguards/security.

Literally anyone can join the channel, you don't have to be an Adguard user. Just stop by and ask any question.

No, we only have the regular moderator tools that Telegram provides.

A bit of offtopic is fine, but if things get out of control, we step in. Any shameless advertising is not allowed, obviously. You can reference other products/apps/whatever if the situation calls for it.

There are more Telegram users than we would ever be able to lure to our own chat (located on adguard.com for example). Try it out, it's not rocket science :)

May not be like rocket science, but the older I get and the more technology advances - I feel like stone age Fred Flintstone in the Jetson's age/era sometimes :)
Thanks for touching on all questions I had / resolved and appreated, my interests may lead me to try it out before years end. . .

@Gass I'd say you do very well for an 'old man' :) Certainly wouldn't be a problem for you, you've shown knowledge and understanding of matters much more complicated than setting up a Telegram account.

That's a great move.
