We're using Adguard DNS Family Protection, and my wife is reporting that links to several Etsy shops from her Instagram app are being blocked as "inappropriate for kids" when they should not be blocked. She says the links worked before today, so something must have changed recently. Any guesses?

Browsing the Etsy site directly works fine.

Today the problem seems to be resolved, so just a weird fluke I suppose. I'll post back with some URLs if it happens again.

Nevertheless, thanks for the great service. I especially love the safe search enforcement. Any ETA on when the project will be made open source?

How do you use adguardDNS with OpenWRT?

The router has a place for IPv4 addresses and just below it there is a place to enter IPv6 addresses.

https://imgur.com/KrfpVCG

When I google "what's my ip", google tells me my IPv6 address, but when I go to ipchicken.com, it gives me my IPv4 address.

So, I think I'm using IPv4 and IPv6 at the same time but adguardDNS just uses IPv4 addresses.

I think that if I don't put in any IPv6 addresses that half of the time my router will use adguardDNS and the other half of the time it will use my ISP's DNS. That's not what I want.

@Daniel8458 unfortunately, we do not work with ipv6 domains yet. All ipv6 domains will be resolved by your ISP. As an alternative, you can try to disable ipv6 altogether and set up our DNS addresses for ipv4.

how does one participate in adguard dns so it can block more adult/porn/illegal websites?

there's so many adult/porn sites the family version isn't blocking

..also reddit.com should be completely blocked in the family version imo
as they host so much adult/porn/illegal content that can easily be found

ex:
reddit.com/r/porn
reddit.com/r/gayporn
reddit.com/r/boobs
reddit.com/r/pussy

can individual subs be blocked?

@dnsu unfortunately, individual subs can't be blocked by DNS filtering, as can't be blocked individual YouTube channels etc.

Blocking the whole domain for such big websites is a bit too much if you ask my opinion. It is more of a safety tool so that children don't accidentally stumble upon inappropriate content rather than a way to completely shut off any way to access adult content. If a kid wants to find porn etc on the Internet, he will most likely succeed. This is all my personal opinion though :)

FYI I added OpenDNS custom on Adguard Pro iOS and on my MacBookPro and it works well and fast. Same DNS have been configured also in NordVPN.

OpenDNS does. You should try it out!

I added the 176.103.130.130 and 176.103.130.131 ips to my DNS space on my router. I went on to the adguard dnspage and it tells me that I am not using the dns servers...

Adguard resolves blynk-cloud.com as 139.59.206.133.
This address is no longer correct.
Should resolve to 45.55.96.146.
Blynk devices cannot connect through Adguard due to this incorrect IP.

I’m sorry, perhaps I have posted this in the wrong location.
At any rate, yes.
Adguard DNS servers 176.103.130.130 and 176.103.130.131 are resolving blynk-cloud.com to 139.59.206.133.
This is an old address that was changed a few months ago. It should resolve to 45.55.96.146.
I apologize for the confusion.

Adguard DNS is blocking traffic in the ibotta app on Android. It works on all other networks, and it works at home when I turn off Adguard DNS, but when I use Adguard DNS it says it can't reach the ibotta servers when the app opens.

Previously it worked... it probably stopped working roughly two weeks ago.
