v2.9.135 RC
The last release candidate turned out to have a rather obnoxious bug: a crash while updating from beta v2.9.111 to v2.9.133 on Android 7 and Android O. The new update is a hotfix addressing this issue.

If you have trouble updating, please download the new version manually.

Note: there will be one more update later today. It will effectively carry no new changes: we need to test if the self-updater was actually resolved in v2.9.134 and the only way to test it is to release one more update.

[Fixed] Update fails on Android 7 and Android O #1308

You can see all release notes on GitHub.

v2.9.133 Beta

Update for the Android version featuring the rework of the User filter and other secondary changes and fixes.

[Improved] The user filter has been reworked #1279

Any experience of interacting with the previous incarnation of User filter could not be described with any other word but 'miserable'. It used to be clunky, unresponsive and slow. A lot has changed in this version.

First, the new design. It has become much cleaner.

We have combined all of the control elements - add a new rule, clear the filter, edit the filter, import and export - under one toolbar menu.

Second, you now have an option to enter the so-called "edit mode" that brings up the multiline text edit area. It is very handy if you need to copy/paste/delete multiple lines of text at once, or just edit several rules in a row without clicking on each and every one of them.

Finally, the general way it looks. Rules are color-differentiated depending on their type, comments are distinctively visible and every rule can be disabled and enabled back without having to delete and re-create it.

If you have any interest in creating and maintaining a list of your own rules, you are going to, without any doubt, welcome these changes. We, personally, are very excited! :)

This one isn't working for me after upgrading - it just opens to a green screen and never loads. Force stopping the app and clearing the app's data resets it and gets it working again but...

It's got something to do with using the Local HTTP proxy (with root). It gets stuck on Preparing to start protection after prompting for root access (which is granted, of course). Force closing the app and reopening it results in a green or black screen and it appears frozen.

Going to do more testing and post more and I do it.

EDIT: Local VPN works. Local HTTP Proxy (with root access granted) does not.

EDIT 2: Downgraded back to the previous stable version (which works) - even though the channel is set to release, it still prompts with an update to the new (broken for me) beta.

@Boo Berry we are also experiencing similar behavior on our rooted devices. We are looking into it.

No idea though, why are you prompted to update to the beta from the release channel.

PS: what is your SuperSU version btw?

Guys, it's important to note that we have updated RootTools to the latest version, it might be the culprit.

I don't use SuperSU, I use Magisk (I like it better and it's a systemless root, and it can be hidden so it doesn't trip SafetyNet so Netflix and Android Pay work even though it's rooted). :p

A little off-topic but a "ignore this update" option when prompting for updates (on Windows, Android and Mac) could come in handy after downgrading from a broken build, yet it still prompts for the update. The feature could ignore that one update, but prompt for the next one. Could come in useful (at least on the beta channel builds). ;)

That's because of the beta license key.

Looks like it was pulled. :p

Update is coming, sorry for the issue guys.
Think of it this way, at least it was caught in the beta testing stage, since afterall that's what us beta testing are for, so it's all good before stable release! ;)

I'm on 2.9.111 beta and am still being offered 2.9.133 beta?

The update fails every time on my Samsung Tab S2 running Android 7.0.

Edit: Manual download and install of 2.9.133 apk from github was fine.
