Howdy all. I've been having ongoing issues with AdGuard for Safari since the changes to the new version to accommodate how Safari now allows extensions. One is that, when I switch users on my MacBook in particular, after logging out of that user and back into my primary one, AdGuard for Safari is shown as not responding in Activity Monitor. In Safari itself, the extension is working and blocking ads, but I can't open the preferences until I force quit it from Activity Monitor.
The second issue, which at the moment "appears" to be caused by AdGuard for Safari, is that when the MacBook Air has been unused for a couple hours or more (lid closed and long off to sleep), when I open it to use it, the screen is black and nothing will come back on. The system is seemingly locked up and I have to power off and back on. It seems odd that AdGuard would be causing this, but it started about the same time I updated to the new version and has persisted from Mojave to Catalina. Last night, I disabled AdGuard for Safari from loading, then logged out and back in before putting the MBA away. Here we are several hours later, I opened the MBA and it's working fine. No lockups, it came out of sleep as expected.
I was using the version of AdGuard for Safari from the Mac App Store, but just switched it out to the non-MAS version from the AdGuard site. The app stil has the issue of not responding after switching users. It's too early to tell if the system lockups have resolved.
I'm running Safari 13.0.2 on Catalina (previously on Mojave, same issues), on a 2012 MacBook Air.
