In about Adguard Window I clicked on 'what's new' and then on 'update'. The update didn't even start downloading.
2nd try (without clicking on what's new) went fine.

I myself have come across this bug on 3 different machines. All running Windows 10 64 bit if that makes a difference or not. As you said. When you click on about. Then whats new and click update. It says starting download. And then it just sits there doing nothing. Hit cancel and try again. Then the update installs. Which I assume was already downloaded from the hang. Just not installing right away properly.

We know it sometimes doesn't go off on the first try and you have to close and reopen the 'About' window. We'll see what can be done about it.

Thank you very much for replying and Adguard 5.10! I have just tested again before uninstalling Adguard 6. All the problems stated earlier are still there.
With Adguard 5.10, they are gone. Except few websites, particularly Amazon, are still laggy to browse using IE with Adguard on (always had this issue, though still MUCH better than Adguard 6), while Chrome / Edge has virtually no issue. Adguard 6 made everything so laggy till I will 100% see "Google instant search is unavailable" while trying to search Google; I need to manually press enter.

Anyways, to address all your points:
Computer configurations - Sorry not sure what you are looking for here, but all I can state now is Windows 10 Education, 64 bits.
AV - Emsisoft Anti-Malware 11
Filters - User, English, Spyware and ABP Japanese.
I just disable the Adblocker module.
Got it, thank you!

Did you have stealth mode enabled in v6?

I pretty much sure some issues are caused by ABP Japanese, let us check it on our side then.

Yeah, there is a bug with update process, "download progress" may be broken. We'll fix it soon.

I was going to post about this same problem as well. In the meantime, is there some place where we can download the most up-to-date build? Or Can we download the installer from your homepage, run it as if we are installing Adguard for the first time, and have it update that way?

We always publish the latest build to github:
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForWindows/releases

It is attached to release notes.

Hmm, why Adguard assistant is injected on lan IPs such as router configuration webpage?
Why not?:) Maybe you want to hide some redundant elements there, who knows.

Sure want to..I was not aware of an uninstall utility even existed!
It was not until yesterday:)

Attached to that release:
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForWindows/releases/tag/6.0.194.1008

There're two uninstall options:

1. Standard uninstall - clean up all program tails.
2. Advanced uninstall - use it only when standard uninstall fails.

Advanced uninstall is supposed to fix for installer error 1402:
https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+installer+error+1402

It restores access rights for some registry branches.

Ok cool...will give it a spin just to check..

Also i would recommend a link on the adguard website for something like off-line installer as well...not everyone is fond of on-line installers.
