I've installed adguard for Mac and it used to work.

In the last month I noticed the little adguard icon which appeared in the bottom right hand corner of web browsers has disappeared. I finally decided to check today, and it's not providing any functionality in any web browser. The icon doesn't appear, ads aren't blocked, the WOT functionality similarly isn't present.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix this, as currently it's a resource hog which is functionally useless.

    That's weird.

Have you changed any of AG settings?
Have you installed any other software prior to the issue? Some AV maybe?

I believe it probably started around the time I installed Avast....

Probably SSL scanning in Avast or something blocked with their firewall.
Please also check the Adguard SSL certificate is installed in the browser.

Can you also please post one page where this is happening, thank you.

Okay so after deactivating Avast webshield it's working again. Might be worth fixing as both avast and adguard are valuable tools

@Blaz nah, it is not about SSL filtering.

The thing is that on Mac there could be a compatibility issue with AVs as we work the same way (by redirecting traffic to an internal proxy server).

Also, as I understand, it could depend on the startup order. If Adguard started before Avast, it will work as expected. At the same time, Avast will filter Adguard's traffic, so you won't loose anything.

The other way of fixing is adding Avast process to Adguard's "filtered applications".
