AdGuard Home - Error Updating

Hello.

I have been using AdGuard on Windows 10 without problems for about a year now. I have started to have problems since the latest update. I now noticed that none of my filters were auto-updating and tried to manually update them but received (Error) for all of them. I waited for the problem to go away but after days it persisted.

I contacted support and they told me it was a rare driver issue and that I should re-install the program to fix it, which I did. On re-install it seemed to work fine again and would update, however once I had restarted my computer I received (Error) again for all filters and they only way I could fix it was to re-install again which again lead to (Error) on every filter after a computer restart. I have not made any recent changes to my software/computer which could have caused this issue, only updating AdGuard to the latest version.

I would like to continue using AdGuard as I paid for it and it was working really well but obviously this issue makes it impossible.

Any ideas?

I thought it was just me! I managed to fix this by disabling protection then updating. It worked for me its a very weird workaround.

This might be caused by the OISD filter, due to a false positive, if you're using DNS filtering and OISD enabled. I reported it yesterday and the false positive has been removed, but you may have to disable protection in AG first to update it.

I have experimented without my VPN with OISD and the issue still persisted so I can now confirm that it’s not OISD that causes it. It’s just an odd co-incidence. I am still getting this error on my machine with no filtering at all.

Thanks for the work around. It’s not ideal but at least I know it’s not just me that’s having this issue. I can’t confirm but it may be due to the latest version of AdGuard somehow as I don’t think I had this problem until I updated.

If you manage to find out how to fix this without the work around let me know, its not ideal having to disable while updating.

@Boo Berry hello I have a big problem, I am a participant of the forum MDL and I won a license of the adguard of one friend if I am not wrong it seems that he is sweating or sweetheart I do not remember that for me is the most fantastic security tool But this has been a few years ago and I have never had problems with activation of the program; and to complicate even more I'm a software developer for more than 25 years and therefore I do not have much time with a specific operating system because I am always changing in the case of Windows systems So this afternoon I decided to install a new version of Windows 10 without any problem but when installing my inseparable companion (Adguard) Someone from your company sent information right after installation and of course I activated the software with the original key and that I use As I have said for several years; I am sure that I am acting correctly since I do not use cellular and I only have 1 machine in this way I do not know how to proceed ??? Do I need to use an image of the system I have where Adguard functions as a charm but I am an honest man and so I decided to sign up here in the forum and try to solve this problem thanks from now ...;)

I'm not a member of the AdGuard team (just a user like yourself, but I help deal with SPAM bots on the forum and volunteer my help where I can), but for your issue you should directly contact support at support@adguard.com to hopefully resolve your issue.
