AdGuard Premium for iOS DNS protection draws a lot of battery

On iOS 15.1, I have high battery usage in the background with DNS protection. And that, it seems, with the encounter notification in conjunction with Corona warning app (https://apps.apple.com/de/app/corona-warn-app/id1512595757). I have already uninstalled and reinstalled AdGuard Premium. But without disabling DNS protection, my iPhone 13 Pro loses about 20% battery capacity in an hour because AdGuard is constantly running in the background.

Most likely, this is due to the fact that some app (e.g. Corona warning app) constantly sends a request to some DNS address, and AdGuard blocks it.
You can check it as follows:
  1. Go to Activity tab
  2. Click on the three dots to reset the log then click Yes
  3. Leave the device for a while
  4. Check Activity tab
There should be blocked records there. If so, just unblock the request.

I am having same problem Adguard DNS pulling about 15% of a full battery charge in background. This seems much and is up there in the top 3 with my most used apps (like safari in the foreground for 3hrs)

When doing the above, how do i recognise blocked records that i should unblock? I am guessing that i should not unblock ALL records but only the ones i trust that are using a lot of power to block? Or don’t i understand how this is working? Thanks

I am having the same problem here. Interestingly, I did not have this issue with my old iPhone (running iOS 15.something. The phone has been wiped and I cannot check the exact version anymore). My new iPhone running iOS 15.5 does have this issue.

Does iOS reset the limits for background activity when you install a new phone (restore from backup with same apple ID)? That would be my only explanation. The battery of the new phone is fine and does not drain when AdGuard DNS is switched off.

And to better understand the issue: Are the only requests that drain the battery those that are _blocked_? Or is just the mere fact of AdGuard _checking_ the request already use a lot of battery?
