Adguard PRO is a new product for iOS. It is currently only available as a beta version. If you are interested in becoming a beta tester, you should check this thread.

Follow the development process and report spotted bugs you can in our repository on GitHub.

Adguard PRO is the same Adguard for iOS, but with new possibilities. PRO features are accessible from the main screen and can be found under the 'PRO' tab. Currently you will only find Adguard DNS there. To get the general idea about how blocking by DNS works, you can check out the respective blog article.

But there are more options available than a simple switch. DNS blocking here works pretty similar to what was described in the dedicated article. It also has two modes:

    - 'Default' to block ads, phishing and trackers;
    - 'Family protection' to add adult websites to this list.

But also a possibility to enable requests log, which you can then look through. <em>Important note</em> - we do not store any logs on our servers. They exist only on your device.

There is one more thing to mention. If you go to General settings -> VPN, and then tap on 'i' symbol against 'Adguard Pro VPN', you will see a switch named 'Connect on demand'. You can enable it to avoid keeping VPN on constantly, and to only have it turned on when you actually use your browser or another app that accesses Internet.

@pegas it's important that AG cannot coexist with another VPN.

Also please note, that DNS filtering is just a first step. Passing AppStore review will mean that we can go further and do the full-scaled on-device filtering as well.

Yeah, unfortunately there's not much we can do, VPN is the only way for traffic filtering on mobile devices.

But I believe you've said before that you obtained special API or something that u can filter traffic Locally on the device rather than VPN?

    Regards

I think you might reference this message: https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/11991/#post-91555

The VPN is local, so there are no actual requests being sent to our servers. All the filtering is happening on your device, but VPN is being used nonetheless. @avatar please correct me if Im wrong.

It appears that all other API which could possible help with ad blocking are available only for MDM deployed devices (enterprise environment only). So VPN is our only choice for a common app.

Also VPN API we use is also "private" and available only with Apple's explicit permission.

What is the app url for Adguard Pro? I've tried adguardpro:// but that doesn't work. Also tried removing the original AdGuard to confirm adguard:// doesn't work either.

I use this with the Launcher app to get quick access to AdGuard.

    Thanks

@brozier Hi! The app url would be
    Code:
    adguard-pro://

After having it used some time now, no issues came up actually. Works better then 'Adblock', which I've used before and uses a similar approach. Only the 'cookie warnings' still come through.

Try enabling Annoyances filter, it should help.
