Hello!

We have great news - Pro version of Adguard for iOS is already available in AppStore! It is the same, familiar Adguard for iOS, but with additional features. The most important of them is ability to filter ads not only in Safari, but also in other apps and browsers.

You can find out everything about Pro version in blog, so no need to duplicate it here. If you have any questions, we will answer them with pleasure.

Similar to Adguard for Android, here Pro version is paid, unlike free regular Adguard for iOS. But we tried to keep the price low, and due to the special occasion of the first ever release of Adguard Pro it is reduced even more - to $0.99. Don't miss the chance :)

This is great. A true blocker and great team behind it. Keep it up as always.

@avatar did you add more servers in EU? I saw you posting in a thread that you are going to add more servers and some of them will be in The Netherlands and other countries.

Hi, I have purchased Adguard Pro for iOS and I see that it installs a VPN profile and that I can enable it.

The problem is that I already use a paid VPN provider (AirVPN) which I prefer to have working. As soon as I activate Adguard Pro, it replaces my AirVPN with Adguard Pro VPN?!!

That should be notified before I purchased Adguard Pro for iOS. And it should notify also after purchase when installed and activated that it disconnects the user from an existing VPN and connects to Adguard VPN.

As it stands now I can't use my primary VPN (AirVPN) together with Adguard Pro VPN.

That's fair, we should mention VPN in the app description.

@Krukov

AG for iOS does not support this sort of rules for in-app ad blocking.

DNS-level ad blocking is limited to blocking whole domains, you can't block (or unblock) individual files.

Please explain how the "fake" VPN works.
It sets up a VPN tunnel using iOS network extensions API.

The routes for this tunnel are empty, so all the traffic goes as usual and avoids the tunnel.
However, VPN tunnel allows us to change system DNS settings and set it to use Adguard DNS.

can i use my adguard key to to enable the pro version ?
Not yet. We've recently figured out that it is not against AppStore rules, so we will add it eventually.

You can become iOS Pro beta tester though, PM @vasily_bagirov so that he could send you an invitation.

I noticed the new "Adguard DNS Filter" that was included in the latest update. Does it function as an all-in-one solution for content blocking, making it unnecessary to enable the others?

I have the same question for both iOS and Android. Hoping Adguard resolves default filter redundancies internally so users don't have to uncheck anything (though no big deal if recommended).

No. Adguard DNS filter is just the filter we use on the DNS server side. If you already use our DNS, there's no need to using it by the content blocker.

However, it will become handy when we finally introduce "DNS filtering" on iOS. In this case AG will block ads on the DNS-level itself, without changing system DNS settings.

It could be useful on Android if you use "Filter DNS requests" feature (settings -> advanced). Otherwise standard filters should be just enough.
