Adguard Pro newbie questions for my old iPhone 6+ (iOS v12.4.5).

Hello.

I just bought, downloaded, and installed Adguard Pro app into my old iPhone 6+'s iOS v12.4.5 (wifi, cellular, and personal hotspot with my computers and others). I used to use its free version and others (e.g., Adblock). I have questions since I'm confused what's the best way to set it up.

1. Is there a way to remove Safari's 50K filters limit since I went about 100K active rules with with many enabled filters? Is this a low limit because of my old iPhone model? If not, then what are the best filters to use to block all ads (apps and in Safari), trackings, malwares, social networks, invasions, etc.? I'm also avoiding filter subscriptions that don't get recent updates like Peter Lowe’s Blocklist list (last updated was 7/18/19 4:25 AM PST even though https://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/ showed recent updates).

2. What's the best DNS server to use for security, speed, adult/porn sites, etc.? Is there a way to select more than one server to use at the same time like DNScloak app (stopped using it because my PC couldn't get networked with iPhone's personal hotspot via USB cable)? I noticed I only can pick one (can't even have both IPv4 and IPv6 servers?).

I'm also using https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BlackJack8/iOSAdblockList/master/iPv4Hosts.txt and https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BlackJack8/iOSAdblockList/master/Miscellaneous(iPv4).txt, from https://github.com/BlackJack8/iOSAdblockList/, for more server blockages.

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

Hello there!
1) A 50k rule limit is imposed by Apple and does not depend on your iPhone model. It is best to use AdGuard filters to avoid getting used to the limit.
Unfortunately, for a number of reasons we can not update the AdGuard PRO application for quite a long time.
2) You can't definitely tell which DNS server to use better. It's up to the user to choose.

P.S. It is hoped that soon we will be able to update the AdGuard PRO application and expand the list of rules to 300k.

Aw man. So, I wasted my money on Pro yesterday? :(

I still go over the limit when using Adguard's base, mobile ads, tracking protection, Safari, and simplified domain names filters. :( I hope Adguard's family protection DNS is enough to stop malwares, invasions, trackings, scams, porn/adult sites, etc.

The limit in AG Pro for iOS is the 50,000 filter limit imposed by the Safari content blocker. Because AG Pro for iOS hasn't received a major update in over a year (closer to two) it still only has one content blocker whereas the newer non-Pro AG for iOS uses multiple content blockers, allowing for more rules to be used (I think the limit there is either 250,000 or 300,000 with all content blockers used).

AG Pro for iOS is in the process of being updated, adding multiple content blockers and other features added in the non-Pro version of AG for iOS. So no, not money wasted. Once the new Pro update is out, it'll have the Premium features unlocked that the non-Pro version has (and requires a license for).

Simplified Domain Name filter not required when you have the others listed.

Thanks Blaz (RIP, Grumpy Cat) and Boo Berry (you scared me!). All these filters are confusing in what to use! I usually just pick all the ones I am interested, but there's the darn limits. Haha. When will the updated Pro be out? I see there's a beta test. Is that stable enough to use? Too bad we can't use both the free and Pro at the same time.
