AdGuard update 2.6.0.1041 release (CL-1.8.214, DNS-1.6.54) does not work

I just installed the last update of AdGuard (2.6.0.1041 release (CL-1.8.214, DNS-1.6.54)) on a MacPro 2013 / Mojave and immediately I had an error Message saying

AdGuard non funzionerà correttamente! Alcuni servizi di AdGuard non sono stati eseguiti correttamente. Ti invitiamo a contattare la squadra di supporto.
(AdGuard will not work properly! Some AdGuard services did not run correctly. Please contact the support team.)

If i try to activate AdGuard the message appears again.
How can I do? Is it possible to downgrade to the previous version?

Hello @Trystero

For first you should try to reinstall the app.

  • Delete following AdGuard files:
    • /Library/Application Support/com.adguard.mac.adguard (folder)
    • ~/Library/Application Support/com.adguard.mac.adguard (folder)
    • ~/Library/Preferences/com.adguard.mac.adguard.plist (file)

Then install it again via direct link.

If the issue still persists we need to get the app logs.

Here's what we need you to do:

  1. Click AdGuard icon in the menu bar --> Gear --> Advanced --> Logging level --> Debug;
  2. Reproduce the issue and remember the exact time it happened;
  3. Menu --> Advanced --> Export Logs and System Info...;
  4. Send the archive to me at PM.

Thank you for the answer.
Yesterday I sent a help request using the "Support" button in the window appearing after the continuous crashes, and then I received two replies.
In the first one there was a link to a Nightly build, I installed it but I had the same error again.
In the second message there was the same direct link and instructions (with request of export the error log if the error persists). I made a new install but nothing changed.
Using EasyFind I searched and deleted every AdGuard file hidden in every folder and then I installed AdGuard again using the last installer.
Same error.
Then I exported the log file, and I sent it to the AdGuard Support address.

Is it possible to have the previous version 2.5 installer?

I found a solution!
In the Preferences > Network I chose Proxy instead of Kernel, and this works fine with AdGuard 2.6.

But I have no active VPN or antivirus.

Same here on High Sierra. Since yesterday's update, AdGuard no longer works and displays the message: AdGuard will not work properly! Some AdGuard services were not started correctly. I have uninstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed AdGuard several times. No change.

Where can we download the previous version of AdGuard?

  1. Open Terminal and enter command ls -@lOae /private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement
  2. Check that restricted flag is missing (like on the screenshot (https://uploads.adguard.com/Chinaskijv9kj.png)
  3. Reboot your mac in recovery mode
  4. Open Utilities -> Terminal
  5. Enter csrutil disable
  6. Enter administrator password
  7. Reboot your mac
  8. Open Terminal and enter command sudo chflags restricted /private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement
  9. Reboot your mac in recovery mode
  10. Open Utilities -> Terminal -> Enter csrutil enable -> Enter administrator password -> Reboot your mac
  11. Enable AdGuard protection

    Please try to use this instruction, there is reason to believe that it will help to run AdGuard.

Yes, you have the result as in the screenshot - so try entering the command
sudo chflags restricted /private/var/db/KernelExtensionManagement

Hey I have a working solution!
working.png

1. Reboot Mac and enter recovery mode.
2. Disable SIP (Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu and type csrutil disable)
3. Reboot Mac
4. Close the AdGuard app and open Terminal and type systemextensionsctl reset
5. Reboot Mac and enter recovery mode.
6. Enable SIP (Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu and type csrutil enable)
6. Launch the AdGuard app and enable protection.

Enjoy!

This morning I had another issue related to AdGuard 2.6 (fixed with the previous method).
Mail do not receive messages if I have AdGuard on. If I quit AdGuard, Mail works well:

I use Airmail and i receive all mails :)
I don't like the stock e-mail client.
You can try Airmail or Spark! Beautiful and good mail clients.

Now I am trying Spark, very good app but it miss an important feature: "Delete attachments". I send and receive pictures with photos or graphic drafts, but when the works are finished I need it to keep only the text messages without the now useless attachments.
