AdGuard VPN: "another Chrome extension is trying to control your connection" message in Firefox

Yes, you read that right. Here is the full message:

"It looks like another Chrome extension is trying to control your connection. Please disable the other extension in your browser. "

This does not show up on my home computer, but does on my work laptop. I believe this may have something to do with corporate-controlled environment, but AdGuard VPN does work fine on Chromium-based browsers at work.

Does anybody have suggestions on how to make AdGuard VPN work on Firefox in this case? I would like to use Firefox but cannot due to this issue.
