Adguard with Antivirus?

So there are quite a few av (antivirus) that that want to put their selves in the certificate chain so they can scan https for connections for malware. I have two different products (kaspersky & bitdefender). I've notice when running adguard on one of these machines and looking at the cert on different https sites the cert is minted from either kaspersky or bitdefender instead of adguard. I'm assuming that adguard is less effective when using one of these AVs because it can no longer inspect https traffic (and almost all sites are https these days)?

Correct, if AG's certificate isn't being used it can't filter HTTPS. It's a incompatibility with antivirus/antimalware apps that use "scan HTTPS" or "scan SSL" type of features like this, they can conflict with AG for Windows in that regard.

Thanks for verifying.

Hello, dear @ncage!

We always test AdGuard for compatibility with all popular antivirus and VPN services.
If you have trouble implementing a security certificate, you should try opening AdGaurd > General settings > Advanced.
There are 2 features that can help you restore traffic filtering in some cases:

- Filter Localhost;
- Use driver redirect mode.
