Adguard with Antivirus?

So there are quite a few av (antivirus) that that want to put their selves in the certificate chain so they can scan https for connections for malware. I have two different products (kaspersky & bitdefender). I've notice when running adguard on one of these machines and looking at the cert on different https sites the cert is minted from either kaspersky or bitdefender instead of adguard. I'm assuming that adguard is less effective when using one of these AVs because it can no longer inspect https traffic (and almost all sites are https these days)?

Correct, if AG's certificate isn't being used it can't filter HTTPS. It's a incompatibility with antivirus/antimalware apps that use "scan HTTPS" or "scan SSL" type of features like this, they can conflict with AG for Windows in that regard.

Thanks for verifying.

Hello, dear @ncage!

We always test AdGuard for compatibility with all popular antivirus and VPN services.
If you have trouble implementing a security certificate, you should try opening AdGaurd > General settings > Advanced.
There are 2 features that can help you restore traffic filtering in some cases:

- Filter Localhost;
- Use driver redirect mode.

Hello. I've been using Webroot antivirus (always the latest version) with Adguard (always the latest version) for about a year without anyproblem. Bet for a few days after updating Windows (I use win 11) or Webroot or Adguard, Webroot started to prevent Adguard working properly. If Webroot is activated Adguard doesn't open, the Adguard icon in system tray gets grey and can not open Adguard. Morever all the icons includilng windows start menu on the taskbar doesn't work until I uninstall Adguard. If Webroot is not activated Adguard works properly. I made the settings as in the attachments one by one and both at the same time but nothing changed. So I had to uninstall adguard. I'm pro user and I really like Adguard. I want to continue to use it. What should I do? Thanks.

Exactly, if AG's certificates was never used, HTTPS cannot be filtered. It's an issue with antivirus/antimalware software that use "scan HTTPS" or "scan SSL" functions, which can conflict with AG for Windows.
