Since the last update, AG is constantly using CPU, crashing all the time and turning off protection. Contacted support, they instructed me to take and send debug logs, which I did and no words fom them since then. Maybe I'll have better luck here. Event Viewer is plagued with errors regarding Adguard service.
Thanks in advance,
Grunf

Do you have installed any .Net framework app? And did you try reinstall the AdGuard app?

Yes, uninstalled AG using their tool and install again and still crashing. Haven't installed any new apps, only Emsisoft, that I am certain, is using .NET, but I've been using EAM and AG for years without problems. AG came bundled with Emsisoft, that's how I got it.

Hi, what if you try repairing .Net frameworks libs? Also, what if you install this Nightly: http://agrd.io/windows ?

Thank @H3lper and @VasqueZ both of you for replying. Support team had contacted me and suggested to do SFC scan (it came out clean) and switch to Nightly release. I've installed 7.12 nightly 1. CPU usage is still above 10% when idle and will see about crashing and protection turning off.

One question, which version of .Net framework AG is using?

Isn't that version outdated, reached end of support, if not mistaken, in april this year? Don't, even, have it installed.
Don't know that, yet AdGuard runs on 4.5. A year ago or so, I saw only 3.5 and 4.1 .Net versions. So consider this as the latest version and update your .net libraries. That should help you

It won't let me install, saying that version is part of the OS or same or higher version is present. You should consider switching to higher version due to weak hashing algorithm (sha-1), versions below 4.7 are no longer supported. Good news is no more crashes since Nightly version has been installed. Only issue that remains is constant CPU usage. Thank You, @H3lper for all Your help.

Constant CPU usage is because AdGuard reroutes all traffic and filters it. Check if your filter list isn't too huge, just in case.

I understand CPU usage when filtered application is active, but not when all apps are closed.
See attachment. Seven filters are active in Adblocker.
Some changes that you made in last update causing crashes and constant CPU usage.

Definitely not seeing that when the system is running idle. I assume you're using either older or a lower end CPU? Something like a dual core or quad core? Full hardware and OS specs might be helpful in this case.

Though to be honest I'd also be a little weary of Emsisoft's AV running too, maybe there's an incompatibility with it somewhere, as that *does* happen from time-to-time with antivirus/antimalware apps and AG for Windows.

At this point Skylake systems are starting to get a bit old and likely are starting to show their age, but even still it still shouldn't be using that much at idle.

If I had to make a guess, it's probably related to the Emsisoft AV and AG for Windows. Maybe it's a WFP driver incompatibility or something. Try disabling the WFP driver in AG's Settings > Network section. Alternately you can try going into AG's Settings > General > Advanced settings and in that dialog try enabling the Use redirect driver mode option. If that doesn't do anything try the Filter localhost option and see if that makes any difference. Probably a good idea to reboot after making said changes.

I've been using AG and EAM together for years without problems. This is the first issue I'm having with AG, you guys were doing good job until now :D. EAM came bundled with AG. I had Malwarebytes installed as well, but cancelled subscription last month for compatibility with other apps using WFP driver. If I'm not using proxy what is advantage of that option turned on?

I hear You, but I live in the country where people can't afford even older systems, especially now when prices are doubled.

What if you install old version, like 7.8 or older, to see if that makes any difference? https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForWindows/releases/download/v7.8/AdGuard-7.8.exe
Don't forget to export your settings first and you may not be able to import New version config to your older one, yet you'll save it if you'll get back to release version back again.

Ok, installed version 7.8 and CPU usage drops and RAM as well. See atachment and compare it to previous. Even more filter are enabled.
