And to be clear, can you check with other Private DNS settings? For example - opennic.tenta.io

I've tried Cloudflare before and Cleanbrowsing today without triggering any sudden reboots that I got with Adguard in private DNS.

And in both cases, AdGuard's filtering method was VPN? Seems like it's an Android bug. When Android start Private DNS its creates as VPN service so it won't work because only one VPN service is available to launch at the same time.

I don't use VPN at all. My phone is a Pixel 3 XL running Android Pie that supports DNS over TLS. I was using Adguard's new
DNS-over-TLS server dns.adguard.com in my phone's setting for Private DNS
(https://adguard.com/en/blog/adguard-dns-announcement/).

The same setting pointing to 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com or security-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org doesn't cause my phone to intermittently and suddenly bring me back to my lockscreen.

I just updated Pie for the January patch and I'll try Adguard again to see if there's any change.
