The problem arises when one disables the traffic interception module. When the module is disabled one can access sites as normal in the browser. However, when one re-enables the module, the browser is stuck at the "sending request to website" phase. The only way to remedy this is to shut down Adguard, at which point sites load in the browser without any problem N.B. restarting the browser after re-enabling the module doesn't help so only shutting down Adguard seems to work. When Adguard is relaunched the program works as it should.
