Can't enable Adguard Premium

My Nexus 6P just updated to Android 8.1.0 which switched off Adguard and now I can't enable it. Reset the Licence Key but that didn't help. Any suggestions? - please be gentle if it's obvious - am an old non-techie !

Done and also installed Yandex to use as default browser. Adguard now looks completely different - icon not appearing at top of phone? How can I check if working properly?

There is no icon by default now, but you can force it if you want: Settings -> General -> Notification icon - Default icon.

You can visit https://adguard.com/test.html to check AdGuard works or not.
