DNS servers

Hello

New here. I purchased two-device android licence and I use one on my phone and one on my wife's. I would like to set family protected dns servers (I use those on my router and I would like to stick to those also on mobile networks) because sometimes kids grab the phone and I do not want any unintended screen.

On my own phone (moto g4 android 6.0.1 stock) everything works as expected.
On my wife's (moto g3 android 6.0.1 stock) it does not. Settings are exactly the same, btw.

If I try adguard dns 176.103.130.132/*.*.*134 the test page says dns are ok, but adult pages are not blocked.
If I try opendns 208.67.222.123/*.*.220.123 opendns test page says even dns are not working.
Ads filtering works great, I'm just not able to have the dns servers working.

Before going into logs (I should steal wife's phone for a while) and just to make sure, once adguard is up and running, all I have to do is specify dns in advanced setting. Am I ok or do I miss anything?

Thanks

edit:
1 - if I switch from opendns to adguard dns, my phone also stops blocking adult pages. Going back to opendns, everything works again. No go on my wife's phone, whatever server I use.
2 - we have different mobile networks

Ok I think I know what's going on.
It's the carrier. I simply switched the sim cards and found it out. Apparently one of the carriers does not allow alternative dns servers.

Adguard dns are not working on both carriers though (Wind and Tim, Italy), while opendns is fine with Wind. It sounds weird to me.

Now, is there any workaround?

Home wifi on:

Opendns on router, Adguard dns on phone, youporn on screen.
No dns on router, Adguard dns on phone, youporn on screen.
Adguard dns on router, Adguard dns on phone, happy kids on screen.
Opendns on router, no dns or Opendns on phone, opendns filter screen.

Mobile network (Wind carrier)
Opendns on phone, opendns filter screen.
Adguard dns on phone, porn on screen.

I think I'd better NOT let the kids grab the phone.

Low level settings -> `pref.vpn.dns`

Also, please make sure that you restarted Adguard's protection after you had changed this setting value.
The thing is that Adguard uses it when it initializes VPN connection.

Thanks, Andrey.
pref.vpn.dns is ok. Restarted after changing the server ip.

A few more tests:
home router: both adguard and opendns do the job.
mobile carrier1: opendns test page ok, adult content filtered - adguard dns test page ok, youporn filtered, pornhub not filtered.
mobile carrier2: opendns not filtering at all - adguard dns test page ok, both adult pages not filtered.

Since moto g4 is a dual sim phone, I just use both sims on one device and switch networks. So, apart from carrier, everything else is unchanged.

Now you'll think I'm kind of mad. I flushed dns on chrome (via chrome://net-internals) and now it works. But I've already tried that before...
I've sent a log for the second carrier, which doesn't work at all.

Hm, even though I see DNS requests to AG server, pornhub is loaded from its regular IP anyway.

Could you please do one more thing: please enable "Filter DNS requests" feature in Adguard's advanced settings and collect logs one more time.

Thus I'll see which domain is sent in the DNS request.

Sorry for the huge delay.
I have no more access to the second carrier - the one causing troubles - so I cannot check again as suggested, I'm afraid.
