DNS unable to block YouTube ads on Playstation

I am using DNS via my Windows PC so I hope this is the right category. No category is present for AdGuard DNS, only the browser extension.

It is unable to block YouTube ads via the Playstation app. Justin from Telegram said something about the videos and the ads being on the same domain, and all I am curious about - is the details.

Hope I can get some here, when I can't via Telegram.
I just want a conclusion. Appreciate it.

To elaborate on Blaz's reply, YouTube ads are served with the same domain(s) used to serve video content from. If you try to block YouTube ads via DNS or any sort of domain name blocking like via HOSTS file, you break the videos too. And that's why YouTube ads (or Twitch ads, Facebook sponsored posts, etc. ads) can't be blocked via DNS and HOSTS/domain name ad blocking.

Can it be blocked at all? You're the programmers not me, so I do not understand, how the iPhone can be created from nothing, but this is an unsolveable problem.
I hope I do not come across as an arse, I simply can't understand it.
Otherwise that sucks to be honest. Guess I gotta program after all.

Have a great day!

My advice would be to get a YouTube Premium subscription if YouTube ads really bother you that much, it's honestly going to really be the only way to block YouTube ads on devices like the PlayStation.

You're not going to be able to block YouTube ads at all with DNS, you WILL break videos if you try to like Blaz said as well. It's not that hard to understand, Google loads YouTube videos from specific domains (e.g. googlevideo.com) however they also load YouTube's ads from those same domains, thus if you try to block the ads with DNS, HOSTS file or any sort of domain name ad blocking you break/block the videos too. It's the same deal with Twitch and other sites.

TL;DR: YouTube videos and YouTube ads are loaded from the same source. If you block YouTube ads using DNS or any form of HOSTS/domain name ad blocking you also block YouTube videos.
