Does Adguard for Safari have malware protection

Hi. I've used both Adguard for Chrome and Adguad for Safari browser extensions. They both have 3 filters in the Security category.
But Adguard for Chrome also have that toggle Phishing and malware protection in General settings.

I couldn't find anything like that in Adguard for Safari browser extension. Does it mean that Adguard for Safari misses some malware & phishing protection features?

Hi, @a.bubnov. Thanks for a quick reply!

I found that filter in Filters - > Others and it marked as #problematic (why?) in both Safari and Chrome browser extensions. So I don't think I need to use a custom filter to enable it.

I am interested in the nature of that Malware & Phishing protection feature in the Chrome extension, how does it work? and why the Safari extension doesn't have it? If I enable the DNS filter in Safari does it replicate the functionality of the Malware & Phishing protection toggle in the Chrome extension?
Thanks!

Are you talking about the AdGuard Experimental filter? It's a different beta like filter for some experiments, so it's marked as problematic. The link I gave to you provides the DNS filter. Yes, it does replace the the Malware & Phishing protection feature, but in a different way. Safari is based on a different platform, and Apple doesn't allow devs to do some super mega manipulations, so this DNS filter is a kind of workaround. In the Chrome you'll see our branded page pop up with a warning, but in the Safari you'll see the stock one.

@a.bubnov Hi, and thanks for your response. I see, so the Malware & Phishing toggle is a different beast, okay!

Nope. It's placed under Filters -> Other:1614344022131.png
Could you please explain how that DNS filter works exactly? It filters DNS queries on the device before they go to a DNS server? Does it work the same way in both browser extensions (Chrome/Safari)? I know that the Mac desktop app has this DNS filter enabled by default, does it work like in browser extensions?
I am asking because Adguard also has their own DNS servers and AdGuard mobile app for IOS uses those servers for the DNS protection feature so DNS filtering is happening on the server-side and not on the device for IOS as I understand.
Thanks!

That filter was discovered under Filters - > Others, and it was marked as #problematic (why?) in Safari and Chrome browser extensions. As a result, I don't believe I'll need to apply a custom filter to make it work.

I'm curious about the nature of the Chrome extension's Malware & Phishing protection feature; how does it work? Why isn't it included in the Safari extension? Does the DNS filter in Safari replicate the functionality of the Chrome extension's Malware & Phishing protection toggle?
Thanks!
