Hey,

Since I started to use AdGuard for Windows a few days ago, my settings and themes in DuckDuckGo and YouTube gets reset. How can I prevent this?

Do you have the self-destructive third-party cookie stealth mode option enabled? If not, what stealth mode options are you using, if any?

The self-destructive third-party is enabled.

I'm using default Stealth Mode with Block WebRTC enabled.

Hide your search queries - enabled
Send Do-Not-Track header - enabled
Remove X-Client-Data header from HTTP requests - enabled
Self-destruction of first-party cookies - enabled - this option is enabled but it says Not recommended, could it be this function?
Block WebRTC - enabled
Block Push API - enabled
Block Location API - enabled

Wait, Self-destruction of first-party cookies is enabled? First-party cookies? If so, that's your problem.

I was going to create a thread about this (the YouTube issue specifically) but this seems the same. My YouTube settings are also not being preserved (Dark Theme and Autoplay). I have Stealth Mode enabled, with the following settings enabled:

Hide your search queries
Strip URLs of tracking parameters
Disable cache for third-party requests
Block WebRTC
Hide your Referrer from third-parties

I have third-party cookies blocked in Chrome (and have done for a year or more) but the problem has only arisen since using AG v7.

That's probably caused by either Disable cache for third-party requests or Hide your Referrer from third-parties.

I still have the same problem. The problem appears with YouTube, DuckDuckGo and Twitch.

Happy to see, that there are also other affected users. I can confirm.
After I switch to AdGuard version 7, settings of youtube and DuckDuckGo gets frequently reseted, not directly, but after some waiting time

I also thought i might be related to clearing Third Party Cookies, but it does not solve the issue when disable.

At the moment, I disabled the Stealth Mode completly and it seems to solve the issue. No reset for a day.
So if still fine after this day, I will enable Stealth Mode again and check one option by another to figure out which option reset the settings of these sites.
But I wonder, because all 4 top option not seems to be related to clear Cookie settings.
It must be related to one of the 4 first options, because other options are unchecked and the issue occur (no Cookie clearing).

In version 6.4 with same settings, all were fine.

I have same issue, Youtube and Twitch's setting often resetting to default (without losing logins).
And NO, It has nothing to do with self-destructive cookie settings.

After fiddling around with AdGuard (Testing each setting one by one, Format and Clean Install of Windows 10).
The issue seems to be related to the Stealth Mode itself (Problems still occur even if all modules in Stealth Mode are disabled).

To replicate the issue
1. Reset AdGuard settings to default.
2. Turn on Stealth Mode.
3. Turn off every modules in Stealth Mode.
4. Delete all cookies and caches in the browser.
5. Visit Youtube and change settings (Dark Mode, Languages, Locations).
6. Wait a few hours and visit Youtube again.

I'm using AdGuard v7.0.2693.6661
Here is my exported AdGuard settings

I can confirm the test of jake7578. This time I had only "hide search request" (first option) enabled. But I guess when I repeat the test without any modules enabled, only stealth mode, it would clean anyway.

Still can't say, after which time periode the cleaning starts. When the cleaning starts, my YouTube and DuckDuckGo settings get cleaned at the same time.

So is this a bug? Or "works as designed", because it protects from... something youtube, Twich and DuckDuckGo have in their Cookie...?

It's likely a bug. I've noticed several weird things like this in the new stealth mode that's in AG for Windows, AG for Mac and even the browser extensions. Turning off stealth mode on this sites (using a rule like the above) helps.

I have updated to AdGuard 7.1.2817 and the issue is unsolved.
After several times, the Cookie settings get cleaned by the Stealth mode at both sites.

@Chinaski
I am not sure if the bug has been fixed in v7.1.2817 (Since I've already updated to v7.1.2818).
However, I can not reproduce problem in v7.1.2818 Nightly.

@Morku
It is strange that you still have this problem. Please, turn on Logging Level to Debug.
Try to reproduce the situation and send me the log files.
