    Hi there

    I get the daily dilbert email to my phone each day, and since google started proxying content through their googleusercontent proxy, I get ads in-line with my email strip. I've tried a number of different mobile DNS blockers before finding Adguard and paying for it - best one out there by a country mile! The problem is the are ads above and below the strip which I find visually invasive - hence using ad blockers! :-D

    In the filtering log, when opening the email, I see DNS lookups for ci6.googleusercontent.com, ci3.../ci4.../ci5... etc, but not the actual URLs that is in the html source of the email. The specific URL in the source that loads the ad image is http://li.dilbert.com/imp?s=255507&layout=marquee&li={LIST_ID}&e=user@example.com&p=20190223

    This redirects to http://p.liadm.com/imp?s=255507&layout=marquee&li={LIST_ID}&m=9e9325b0aa0777cd5635238618437574&sh=f702c975d29a2533966a656ff346185df9347540&sh2=f6657f10fe836831c39c72b767cd5f18fd96a617dda5a0b3026229701df18fd0&p=20190223&dom=example.com

    This then redirects to https://mb.taboola.com/server/1.1/j...t=&recipient.ipv4=1.1.1.1&widget.alternative=

    So I have added the following patterns to my user filter:
    ||li.dilbert.com^
    ||p.liadm.com^
    ||mb.taboola.com^

    Sadly, this makes no difference. Does anyone have any ideas please?

    You may try a rule like this for the app google mail:
    Code:
    ||*.googleusercontent.com^$empty,app=com.google.android.gm

    Please note also other valid content may be blocked from mails then like valid pictures.

    Hi Blaz

    Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't mention it, but I had already tried that. And as you note, other valid content is also blocked, so have ruled this option out.

    Cheers

    I guess you tried your initial rules with $empty too?

    Nope, I've not heard about $empty before. I tried googling about it, but I don't understand how it's supposed to operate. Could you please elaborate?

    Something like this...

    Code:
    ||li.dilbert.com^$empty
    ||p.liadm.com^$empty
    ||mb.taboola.com^$empty
