How the vpn connection works - what is the IP 111.111.***

Hello and thanks for the great work.
I have a question which I neither in the FAQ nor here in the forum.

What in the VPN settings is the server IP 111.111. ***. ***.
Looking at Google, the IP is only to be found in connection with hacks.

Second question: The VPN also protects surfing in unprotected wireless networks, e.g. Hot spots?

This is not a real IP address, no idea what's there.

The thing is that for starting VPN up we have to set anything into the IP address field.
So we just chose to use this one. Nothing is really routed there, though.

No, in Adguard's case your outgoing traffic is not changed. We use VPN for one thing only: to get to the DNS requests and block ad servers.

Also you can use some VPN apps along with Adguard. We keep track of compatible VPN apps here:
