Good find that and if true, it would certainly explain a lot!
Well....FWIW, Murray has actually surfaced: http://forum.admuncher.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=29455&start=15#p60643
He's probably a little late for me. Having switched to Adguard I'm pleased with the results and it's unlikely I'll be going back to AdMuncher.
How do we know it was Murray? Maybe it could have been Jeff on Murrays account posting? For me the TRUST is gone for Ad Muncher, they are going to have to rebuild that for many members. I'll unlikely go back to Ad Muncher also. I like it here where they tell you a straight answer when asked, Ad Munchers Forum reads like a Soap Opera.
Saw he had re-surfaced a few days ago didnt say anything though as people keep saying forget about them so thats what im doing.
I personally will not buy anything murray or jeff are involved in as your guaranteed to get lies from them about how hard they work and absolutely no information from them other than "soon" and "be patient" then they wonder why their paying customers are unhappy and not kissing their asses? lol
Anyway like i said happy with AdGuard and its service, it has a decent community too something that AM does not have, i can not imagine why *coughs*
The only fault I have with AG is their support. I send reports from AG Assistant but never hear anything back. I post problems here and often don't get a reply for up to a week.
The one thing about AM, and Jeff in particular, is his responsiveness to requests and problems. I usually received an email from him within hours of sending a report. If a filter needed to be added he stated what release it would be in, usually the next one.
agreed.. this is what i said from the first.
jeff is fast at responding because all he does is browse the internet all day, when he says he's "working his ass off" he will either be on a forum trolling people saying how amazing their broken product is and that an update is just around the corner... or browsing porn.
Now tell me, what would you prefer?
Lightening fast responses to questions on a product that can only filter http and blames every error on something else (were being ddos, our script is over loaded, that webssite is incompatable, am works fine there are justa few people reporting this issue im unable to reproduce)
Slower response times to questions and a blocker that works on all sites without any excuses?
Dont forget to add in AM's higher cost, over two years of lying to their customers and general bs, personally id choose and recommend AG to people but i guess some peopel will always love AM and their bs.
Sorry if it seems like im having ago at you lto im not. Am was a good product but there is just too much bs imo, time to just let it die oh and me replying to this with no sleep for three days dont help so i appologise for that.
Nameless.... I don't take anything on the Internet personally . Whatever you believe about Jeff, from a filter problem perspective he was there when I needed him. All I'm asking of the AG folks (btw... is there only one??) is to be more responsive.
Yeh i try and help with anything i can, if i dont know the answer or its something the devs need to deal with then i try not to get involved unless i dont understand what the issue or think i know a solution and even then as you have seen i could make a mistake.
And while i understand getting answers fast is always nice there are not many places that do respond in 24hours unless they have a team dedicated to support and even then they use good old canned responses that may not even help with your issue (Yuo know the ones where they give you a list of instructions that dont help or you have already tried and even said this in your email) as for others helping, sure they could help but who knows how often they check the forums? Not only that but you can also check the adblock forums or fanboys forums for an answer too seeing as we can use their lists and i admit i do sometimes check for a solution on theirs! lol
Anyway maybe avatar or another member will respond, i just wanted to say i wasn't meaning to attack anyone with my response im just not sleeping at moment and im not happy with how AM conduct themselfs as a company, su they are fast to respond sometimes its good "updated in next filters" but you dont know what he's done so can not make your own filters other times its just another excuse you have heard a million times.
What can I say, you are right, support is not good enough now.
I've made a promise some time ago that we'll fix it hiring a new guy.
I am still working on it. I have 2-3 interviews every week so I think we'll solve it soon.
Excellent! That's why I like you guys, you acknowledge the problem and work on solutions while keeping the community in the loop.
Heh, let's move on to something we're good at
I am planning to make Adguard for Android preview video next week.
But if you want you can watch russian preview right now:
Wow! Can you import user filters? Shame I have 4.4.2 Kit-Kat so it may not work.
Not yet, first version will be really very simple.
I hope everything will be ok. At least it works ok on our test devices with 4.4.2 (but it does not work on 4.4.2 emulator though).
Unfortunatly i dont browse the web enough on my phone to use this, though i have tried to applications to block in application ads and they do ok on some just not others lol.
All thats aside good job on the android version!
For me - ads are not very obtrusive when I use my phone for surfing.
But they really are if i use a tablet.
Me too, can't wait to try it!
Is a Windows Phone version planned for the foreseeable future?
Yeh i just use a laptop, only time i use a tablet is if im visiting my mum or dad (he has 2 ipads - .- ) will admit im interested in an android tablet though just for a bigger screen with some apps. Im only using a galaxy 2 too, so getting on abit now but then i keep breaking phones lol
Not this year. Windows phone is not a priority due to small market share.
