Hi there,

Is it true, that Adguard ain't working since you have updated from 12.3 to 12.3.1?
Cause after I did a clear reinstall of my mac, it's automatic disable the guard-functions. I have tried with both SIP enabled or disabled, as I saw as solution in another forum. So any who has a solution or know if it's a problem that they are working on? Thank you.

Not working for me also.

  • Browsing basically hangs.
  • nslookup or ping from terminal has no response.
  • Adguard VPN in system prefs->network has no traffic indicators despite being connected
Adguard is running in Network Extension mode.

Tried multiple reset / reinstalls etc. It never works on "Network Extension" mode, only when Adguard is acting as a proxy.

Thanks again oldsarge.

These are the settings I have. Adguard fails when I turn on Preferences -> Network -> Network Extension mode, but works ok when this is set to 'Automatic Proxy'

Maybe one of the experts will come along and provide better help/advice. Go to members and send a PM to Chinaski or Booberry and maybe they can help you. Include a link to your posting.

It started with NO web access until I started Adguard-- and went down hill from there.
I looked in the support pages and founds lots of "known issues" with Monterey. :(

There lots of geeky "fixes" involving doing a buncha terminal stuff, root user, doing things in a Recovery Mode boot, SIP(?) --- o_Oo_O

Anyway, I have removed as much of Adguard as Monterey would let me and had to reinstall my OS to get back to normal (but sadly ad-filled) web access.

Frankly, I am a bit irritated that Apple applies some sort of system protection to items installed by 3rd party developers (referring to the Adguard stuff I could NOT remove)

I am hoping that some CLEAN simple user friendly update will be here soon!

Let us know how you get on.
So far, it's good. It's Safari specific, instead of doing the entire web connection (I think that the paid version does that ). I don't know if it saves bandwidth like the paid version -- important perhaps for those who ride measured/ data capped service.

I checked that with FireFox -- and got faked out momentarily by the "pocket" icon that looks quite similar to the AdGuard icon. :p A sample/ tested clean Safari webpage is loaded with ads in FireFox.

It adds ***8*** extensions to Safari . The notes say that is to get all the filters in, because of some MacOS numerical limit for extensions.
I do miss that 30 second delay thing in the paid version.

It doesn't fight my Proton VPN for control. (there used to be pref setting just for that-- went away with current version)
It doesn't fool with my DNS preferences.

Bottom line: I'm OK with the free version, pending a user friendly UI update for the paid version. And frankly, I don't really mind having paid the developers for their work. There is nothing else comparable that I know of.

:D
Seems like adguard 2.8.0 came out after this line was started. I have installed that and none of the issues I had are present.
I seem to be all good for now!

I'm still having issue.... I double checked SIP was enabled, but still have the same issue. When Adguard is enabled in 'Network Extension' mode there is literally no network traffic. The other couple of things I've noticed are that Adguard constantly nags me about installing the HTTPS certificate. I put in the admin password, all goes well, and then an hour or two later I'm being nagged to install the certificate again. Adguard is also hammering my CPU. 700%+ (8 core machine), so basically 7 out of 8 cores hogged by Adguard.

The Adguard VPN has been created (i even tried deleting this and letting Adguard re-create it)

I'm also hearing nothing back from the support team at Adguard, so am getting more and more frustrated. Looks like i'll just be cancelling my subscription at this rate, if they can't be bothered to help...

@AdGuardAndy
I have Proton VPN -- no issues that I am aware of.
I have a different machine -- 4 core 2017 iMac Retina 5K 48GB RAM running Monterey 12.3.1

Would you like to try my exported AdGuard settings? (messaged dropbox download link to your profile --I'll leave it there for a few days)
