Removing clickable links from the site

Just to avoid referrer tracking (and thus adblock countering) I'd recommend parsing of urls should be changed.

Otherwise the website who is being reported will be aware of the forum thread.

Not sure if this forum was the best to bring it up.

tl;dr I was going to respond to a fix, to a popular Anti-adblock site but noticed the user posted a direct link.

Hi @fanboy, thanks for the tip!

I see that on easylist forums you use "window.open" approach, is it enough to remove the referrer header in all browsers?

I raised this up a month ago. @vasily_bagirov said that he discussed it with the team and they didn't find this critical at the moment.

So far I know lanik has disabled all links on the website. So people have to select the text and open in new tab or copy the url and paste in the browser. That is good but not user friendly for the users/moderators. And like @fanboy mentioned the BUG, it's not reliable right now.

The best would be installing this script into the forum: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/kl-anonymous-links.4639/
Just enable anonym.to or any other refer service. It's user friendly, users/mods/admins can click the links and the website owners don't see the refferer details.

After all we've done it but in a more "gentle" manner. All external links now have referrer policy set to "no-referrer" and "rel" attribute equal to "noreferrer" which covers all modern browsers.

Okay, right.

Test: https://www.whatismyreferer.com/

Came back under both Firefox and Chrome:

Code:
Your HTTP referer:
https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/removing-clickable-links-from-the-site.14243/

Source:What is my Referer?
https://www.whatismyreferer.com/

Argh, my bad:(

Great test btw, thank you!
I posted an image here that showed my referer - https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/add-automatic-browser-cache-and-histry-cleaner-to-adguard.14369/

Just now going to same site - http://www.ip-address.org/ shows my referer as DIRECT now.
Same for Browser Referrer from - http://www.ip-tracker.org/ says same as Direct now.
Then on https://www.whatismyreferer.com/ gives this info. - Your HTTP referer: No referer / hidden

Just an FYI

Not fixed I'm guessing? still no "no-referrer" set on links.

Code:
Okay, right.<br>
<br>
Test: <a href="https://www.whatismyreferer.com/" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">https://www.whatismyreferer.com/</a><br>
<br>
Came back under both Firefox and Chrome:<br>
