As a continuation of this thread ----- > https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/dns-noob-question.31527/

I re-installed Adguard today, because I am stubborn and I WANT to use it :p

I installed, activated my license and turned the main switch on.
So everything is on the default settings.
And immediately Chrome / Instagram / Twitter / etc. become almost unusable. Loading / refresh times of literally a minute or longer.

These issues do not occur when Aguard is off. Or when I am using (Adguards rival) Blokada.

I am really at a loss here at whats happening.
And I sincerely hope someone has a solution :(

@Rogue Sero
Hello!

Please collect the full log from your device.

Let's see why this problem can be played on your phone.
As for Facebook and Instagram. We cannot block ads in these applications, so you should off protection in apps management.

Hello @Chinaski

Please forgive me. A few minutes before your post I already changed some settings.
I enabled DNA Filtering and am using Adguard DNS in these settings.
I also changed server type to DNS-over-TLS.

So far connections are normal, but I am sure it will be choked soon, as happened many times before.
I guess logs will not help you now ? (until the problem reoccurs again)

I have made the preparations on my device and PC to get the logs :)

As for Facebook and Instagram
I don't have Facebook, but Instagram is always part of my test. I know Adguard can't block ads in these apps, but they are a good indicator to test my Internet connection.
I have actually never turned off apps from the firewall in the past.

It's great of course that everything is working now, but you should compile a log in order to give us an understanding of the problem if there is one place on your device. :)

Let's hope that the problem does not happen again. And if It repeats - please send logs.

Have a nice day!

Thank you.

While my connection with the internet is still working now, I do notice it is slower than with Adguard off.
I am a bit stumped at the moment, that its still working. But i will not rest easy yet.

Because my connection is slower now, should you already require my logs, I can send them to you.
Or we wait a little and see how long this 'good connection' lasts.
I am not confident yet, and am afraid it will slow down more soon.

I need to get my facts straight and i am so very confused now.
It seems when not on WIFI (but on my Vodafone network) the connection is better. Now I'm thinking maybe its my router :'/

Also, connections are better than a month ago. When it was just really not working AT ALL
And the only thing that changed was a Android security update.

I really don't know whats going on anymore.

All I know is connections are better and workable, but still being slowed a bit.

I will keep testing and posting here.

Ok, should've done this much earlier.

I disabled my router and now use the modem / router provided by my provider (previously in bridge-mode)
And same results. After a few hours mostly the apps Instagram, Google and Chrome (beta) load extremely slow.

So it's an issue caused by my provider (Ziggo) :/
I guess it ends here. I have no clue how to proceed investigating and finding a solution.

Any ideas are still very welcome

@Rogue Sero

Hello again! :)

To determine your problem, we will have to spend some time :)

1. Advanced settings > Logging level > Record everything
2. Switch-On/Switch-off DNS filtering
3. In Chrome, go to chrome: // net-export (and enable logging)
4. Repeat the problem and send logs to PM
5. Tell me on which site and in which time period you checked

Also, you can try to enable (advanced settings)
- pref.vpn.ipv6.disable
- pref.vpn.ipv6.bypass

Please collect if you have time for it :)

I feel the issue is getting worse with every nightly :/

I feel three nightly's ago things were good compared to before and after that specific release.

The problem was repeated for some of the users. Developers are working on their solution.
To troubleshoot this issue, we need to get the additional logs.

When the issue happens again, please do the following:

1. Remember the exact time when the issue happened, we will need it to find the corresponding records in the log file.
2. Export AdGuard log: settings -> advanced -> export logs
3. Additionally, capture the system bug report after reproducing the issue. Here's the instruction
4. Send both files to us, and please mention the exact time when the issue was reproduced.
