Startup Error

Every time I start my Mac I get an error message.
"Adguard won't work correctly!
Some Adguard services were not started correctly. Please contact the support team."

When I open Adguard I find it disabled and I have to manually enable it. As far as I can tell, it works fine after that. This has been happening for the past several versions. I updated to the latest today. It only happens on a reboot. If I shutdown Adguard and restart it, it starts fine.

Adguard 2.5.3.955 release (CL-1.7.200)
Mac Air M1, Big Sur 11.2.2

I'm getting the same error as edbro, but I can't manually open it. It keeps repeating the same error.

Hello all!

First, try installing the Nightly version of the app.
If the issue still persists, I want to ask you to collect the app logs.

Here's what we need you to do:

1. Menu -> Gear -> Advanced -> Logging level -> Debug;
2. Reproduce the issue (and remember the exact time when it happened);
3. Menu -> Advanced -> Export Logs and System Info...;
4. Send the archive to apple@adguard.com and mention the link to this thread on Forum.

Also, please specify you use third-party VPN services or antivirus?

Hi, I followed all the steps. Unfortunately, everything didn't work and I sent the logs. I hope you find the bug.

We started an issue on GitHub about this problem.
Here you can track a solution.

Hello all!

I would like to ask you to open the AdGuard menu and try to reset the settings to default as an experiment.
Then reboot your Mac and check if the issue still persists?

Hi, reseting settiings didnt help in my case.
I use Big Sur 10.13.0 and 10.13.1 and beside Adguard network service there is an lulu (like little snitch) network service running.
Same situation as posted in post#1^i think.
After cold startup Aduwar shows error message window. But i can enable Adguard then in the adguard menue.
No problems at all with the filtering.

I think, in my case it can be an timing problem between adgaurd app (menue) and the background adgaurd network service.
Because NOT all could starts of the system show this adgurad error!!!!
In 2-3 cases of 10 could starts i have NO error, means adguard got enabled with sucess (no manual enable to do, no error message).
If the adgaurd statup process works in 2-3 of 10 could startups it cant be an general code problem but an problem of timimg?
If the error detection (in the main adgoard app or where ever else) would try to enable adguard an SECOND (third) time - after an error (this error) was detected and an short waiting time of an second before an next try - it may help to avoid that error. If adguard app would take 1-2 seconds longer until its available its better than fire the error mesage at first error and i must enable it manual (canel error message window, enable adgurad in the menue .... takes much longer ;) )
Would be great to get such an test version with changed error handling - try at least 2 times with wiating time between before fire error message - to test if error is gone by this ahanged error handling.

Log similar to the posted some post above ( error condition):

I have also been having this issue for a while now. I tried resetting the app, deleting and reinstalling it, but nothing helps. Not that it is a huge problem. The apps still works fine after you manually enable it. Just a bit annoying.

And yes, as ami1963 mentioned, this doesn't happen all the time. In 10-20% cases it works fine.

I'm currently running Adguard 2.5.4.966 nightly (CL-1.7.223) on macOS Big Sur 11.3.1

Yes, because we can aktivate Adguard after the error message of fail manual - 80-90% of could systemstart fails - it coulöd be an workaround that adguard trys itself to activate again - after some wait time of an second or two. Would be an workaround for an communication problem (timing) of adguard and his network service task but better than now.
If our prob - 80-90% fail, 10-20% works is an problem which occurs not so often, it can be that other tasks - non Apple Tasks / Apps starts also beside Adguard havbe the effect that Adguard fails once in his activation / communication process with network service.
I dont think its an general problem that other tasks make Adguard fail - because in the working 10.20% case they don´t make Adguard fail.
My other tasks (startup) are Lulu, Paragon NTFS, Blueharvest
Order at working startup (PID low to high) : Paragon NTFS, Adguard, Blueharvest, Lulu, non working startup condition later ....
Also i will try (its easy) to test with removed Adguard App from Autostart and start it manual after desktop is ready and look if also 80-90% fail or that value changes or is zero fail.

I have a similar issue: upon re-boot the Adguard won't load - but no error message, no icon in the menu bar - just isn't loading at all.
I can manually start Adguard with no issues whatsoever.
MacOS: 11.4

That looks like a different issue. Check your Settings => General for 'launch with system startup' or something similar. Or you can add Adguard to start automatically with MacOS system settings.

I had reset the Adguard settings and the start went smoothly. But for 3 days I have had the same problem again.
