Ultimate-Guitar ad placeholders not removed in Internet Explorer

Me again with another Internet Explorer-only issue with adblocking rules for a specific website. Go to the site http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/ and on the top and left side there's advertisement spaces (with text advertisements wanting people to subscribe to UG plus to remove the banner). The following rules work fine for Google Chrome, Opera and Maxthon...

Code:
ultimate-guitar.com##.b[align="center"][width="100%"][valign="middle"][height="130"]
ultimate-guitar.com##td[align="center"][width="160"]
These work fine for the other browsers but not Internet Explorer. Is there some kind of special rule(s) needed for this website that works for Internet Explorer? I'm wondering why IE has issues at times with some adblocking rules that work fine for other browsers. Thanks in advance!

P.S. Can anything be done about the "takeover" ads that pop up now and then on that site (with the 10+ second countdowns) when browsing the site?

can confirm this problem exists in IE only. the assistant does not seem to work either in IE on this site as selecting any element to filter does not work but the assistant works as it should when used in other browsers. also an interesting visual glitch seen when using the assistant in IE on this site

Thanks for confirming and you're right, there is a few assistant issues on that site when using Internet Explorer.

The problem is in internet explorer's CSS implementation.

So I was forced to remove these elements from the page instead of hiding them with CSS rules (that is simpler and faster).

Any tutorial on how to do that ourselves? That'd be interesting to have! :) Issue's fixed, all issues I was having in IE are now gone. Thanks again!

Okay, an update for this...

There's still some ads/ad reminders/etc. on various pages on the domain and there's also a problem. When you go to http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/ and click on a news story, it never loads up the page for the article. Only using the English filter.

Are you sure the problem is not in your user filter?
Cannot reproduce it: Google Chrome / English Filter / Windows 7

I have the User filter turned off. It's random for me, but it *does* happen sooner or later.

It's the rule &ad_type= messing with the site from loading up completely. It seems that you have to disable it, allow the ad redirect to load (where you can skip it) and it'll load normally.

An update, this issue still happens however, I found a workaround for it by adding @@||ultimate-guitar.com/xtra/mojo_show_takeover.php$urlblock to the whitelist. My guess is, the urlblocking is messing with the ad redirect page.

Added it to white-list. Please check it again.
