This is my first post so firstly say hello :)
I bought AdGuard on android and I wanted to ask about the vpn connection, whether it is safe, the data is encrypted and if anyone can capture this data? I ask because I met a number of opinions that say that they do not
I will add that my smartphone does not have a root

Thank you and best regards

Adguard's VPN is local only in order to block ads. It is not a real VPN.

As it is not a real VPN, it is not doing any kind of encrypting.

which is not safe, and all the data passing through it are easy to intercept, and this is very bad news

@Qoni Hello!

Adguard doesn't serve for encrypting your outgoing traffic or altering it in any other way. Local VPN means that there's no need to route your traffic through a remote server in order to filter it - filtering happens locally on your device. So, at the very minimum, Adguard doesn't make your device more vulnerable than it already is.

One more question, if the filtration by vps are sent any data to AdGuard or third companies?

for what purpose AdGuard needs access to the memory card?
It stores cache there. You can check what's there by yourself: go to /sdcard/Android/data/com.adguard.android/cache

By default it writes a log file to the "cache" folder which can be useful in case of any troubles with the app (support service may ask you to send this log file to them).

We have never received any complaints on AG and Emsisoft compatibility.

You can safely leave both enabled, as they won't mess with each other.
