Webpage loading slows to snail pace - returns to normal if Adguard disabled

Sudden onset of this issue around 7pm UK time, 9th November. Using browser extension with Firefox for Linux Mint 107.0.1, Mint Mate 19.3. Also use Open DNS set in network settings. Firefox is up to date and updates for Adguard last completed 27th Nov. Have used Adguard for around 2 years without any issues at all until today. Sadly the only way I can use the internet now is without Adguard. One minute I was browsing internet without any problems and the next pages loaded so slowly they often failed to load. Tried Chromium browser (without Adguard) and had no connection issues, so disabled all add-ons in Firefox and tested them one at a time. Adguard immediately caused the issue again.

Have lots of internet user experience, since 1995. Not tech knowledgeable about how an adblocker works, but is there some sort potential DNS or similar issue, or maybe DDOS issue on a crucial server? Hope there is a answer to this issue as I really like using Adguard, other adblockers are not as good.

I'm exactly in the same boat, but the hour has been around 23:00 GMT+1 December 9th.

I looked on my version of Adguard, and I have the 4.1.46, but also it says it was last updated on November 22th.

Dough, If you see this, did this issue solve already for you? It is maybe a typo on the month (you mention 9th November, but posted this 9th December). If it's a generalized and sharp problem for most users, I expect a promptly solution... but if you've been having this problem for a month... I'll have to switch adblockers. I do like Adguard though, and I have several custom blockings, etc.

PS: I see on the add-on page they have several recent 1 star reviews, and somebody mentioning that it breaks firefox. So I guess this is generalized.

I ran into this at roughly the same time as Visca87, above.

Happily, I found this Reddit post about it and tried the fix mentioned there - disabling the list List-KR - and it seems to have fixed it for me. [knock on wood]

(Annoyingly, AdGuard has to be running in order to change the relevant preference, meaning it's super-slow to do so. What I did: open Extensions, click the 3 dots to the right of AdGuard and select
Preferences..., click Filters on the leftnav, search for KR, and turn off List-KR.)

Thanks for all the additional info about possible cause of the issue. I decided to reinstall for an updated version, which has worked. Also checked for the List-KR (Korean specific list) and it is off by default on new install. Turned it on and everything still worked, so I hope that means it has been updated. Learned a bit more about how Adguard may go wrong, so know what to turn off and check if any issues return. Adguard is much better than the next best options I tried for the last few days, especially for blocking annoyances, such as cookie pop-ups.
