I would like to find this apk since it seems to be the only version that blocks youtube ads when using Nvidia Shield TV.
Or if anybody else can show me how using another premium version...

To avoid most of the ads on youtube you can use our DNS or AdGuard Home.

YouTube app ads are encrypted and can't be blocked anymore.

Can you sideload YouTube Vanced on a Nvidia Shield? If so, that's a viable solution.

@TheHasagi I thought DNS was incapable of blocking YouTube ads anymore too, since Google seems to load ads from the same domain(s) they load videos from.

I was looking into YouTube Vanced but when I read Adguard premium also blocked ad's in the app I figured I'd try that. Does DNS blocks most ad's using the youtube app?

Doesn't block any YouTube app ads for me, just tested both AG DNS and AG Home with one of my other non-YouTube Premium accounts and the ads still show. It might work for some, but not others. But I suspect it won't (for many at least) due to them being encrypted and loaded from the same domain(s) as video content.

@twistedvincent it may or may not, so your mileage may vary. In my case, the AG DNS (nor AG Home) didn't block any of them in the YouTube app. So if it doesn't work, there's only three options... sideload and use YouTube Vanced or view YouTube in a web browser like Chrome or do what I did and get YouTube Premium.
